Musical Paint For Kids App Reviews

I downloaded this but drawing on the easel stopped functioning and now cannot draw with it. So I downloaded it again in case there was a glitch. Kids are disappointed. Please fix it!

We have 4th gen iPad but this app wont work anymore. I cant even redownload it. I get a app not compatible with your device error. Funny since all devices are listed

I love that the app is open ended. I am excited to use this in the classroom to teach writing, numbers, colors, shapes, etc. Visual and hands on learning that encorporates technology in the classroom. Better than worksheets!

This is a wonderful program! My nieces love learning their numbers and working on learning their colors with this and Ive seen a huge improvement in them. Its functional yet creative and easy to use. I highly recommend for anyone to use with their children, its especially good for road trips or times that its hard to get the paper and crayons out. Thanks Building Blocks Media!

this app is great stuff. I have two daughters and a son who love to make art and music with this (and rush to show me their "newest bestest creation." I feel good having them play a game that promotes creativity and growth rather than sitting in front of the boob tube.

Writing educational software is really tricky… you have to strike a lot of balances, and you have a couple of very picky and fickle audiences (small children and teachers!) This app seems to balance many things quite well. Simple clear and engaging graphics, soft ambient sound effects, the transition animations that explain and lead the student to the painting area are helpful but dont get in the way, mostly intuitive to use, and a smirky-fun idea to couple drawing colors with instruments and scales. Of course, being an ex-clarinet player, Id have preferred a less "goofy" sound for the clarinet example :-) For those who remember the "old" childrens software, this feels like a really polished merging of "KidPix" and "Putt Putt". I could envision many spinoff ideas/apps from this.

I am a single dad and I love encouraging my kids to make art, but it often means a huge mess. We dont mind the mess when theres time to clean up, but this app is a nice way for them to express themselves creatively when we are short on time or on the go. And I like that they can make 100 paintings and I still have paper left in my printer! Another cool thing: my daughter asked if she could "play the double bass like the octopus." I love that shes inspired to play musical instruments.

Musical paint is an amazing app!! Building Blocks Media created an innovative and creative app that is very educational for kids but fun for all ages! The characters are entertaining and the music is catchy - definitely keeps kids engaged! Well done!

This is a great, easy to use app that allows young children to create both visual art and music. As an educator, I especially love the lesson plans that align to the Common Core standards! They offer activity ideas for using the app with children of all levels to help develop not only creativity, but also math and literacy skills.

I just love the finger painting concept behind this app. Been needing that in my life. Pairing that with the musical characters is pretty genius and makes for endless hours of educational entertainment for the little ones (maybe myself as well). Overall great app, easy to use, love being able to text the final products (paintings) and graphics are really well done in sync with the underwater musical chimes. Love it all! Want more apps from building blocks media!!!

Musical Paint is a simple app which has some common cores lessons found in the adult section. The user has options found under the question mark to explore outside, go into the museum or paint. Painting on the easel provides a multi sensory experience and children will enjoy writing their name, or drawing pictures. The length of their stroke controls the beat, or length of time each note is played. Six different colors of paint provide the tones of the different instruments featured. The grown up section provides app instructions, lesson plans, tech support and developer information. A fun app for kids.

Musical Paint is primarily an underwater musical painting program. There are three modes in which to play, Painting/Drawing, playing outside the museum, or playing inside the museum. Pick drawing on a canvas, and a variety of sounds correspond with the your ability to maintain touch. A short tap produces a short sound and a longer tracing produces sustained sound. You can also grade the intensity of a color with a slider bar. After completion, you can choose to frame and sign your piece or delete it and start again. I really would like to have the color black for contrast, and I was disappointed in the lack of things to do in the museum and outside of it. I feel like it gets kids into this random tapping everything mode. If it just promoted the drawing/painting to music and then viewing your creation in the museum portions, I think I would have given it a higher rating.There are no in app purchases or ads. You are able email your paintings, a handy feature if you want to send your drawing to Grandma, Mom, or Dad. There is also a well done parents section for using the app as a learning tool.

My 5-year old daughter loves this app! I personally enjoy getting paintings from her emailed to me at work. Shes gotten quite good. Thanks for the app!

Musical Paint is a terrific program for self expression and learning. The graphics are amazing and it is truly an engaging experience for everyone!

Locked up in the first five minutes of playing. Had to delete and reinstall. The practice writing section is deceiving, too, as its only accessible to sign your painting. Was actually hoping my kids could practice their writing.

Kids do like this app drawing music. Good for adults as well!
